In my class, we are currently learning about standard and non-standard measurement. Last year, my teaching partner Deb discovered this chart on the Bisquick web site. You can print it out and tape it together (then laminate it for longevity and durability) and then measure the kids against it to see how many pancakes tall they are. We started with an estimate of how tall they thought they were, then I actually measured them against it.
Funny, very, very, funny!
