Today was one of those rare "warm" days in the midst of winter. We've been cold, colder, bitterly cold, then just cold again for so long it seems like it's never going to warm up. Well, it did just that yesterday. But, due to being stuck inside the school building from 8:00 am until 8:30 pm due to Parent-Teacher Conferences, I didn't get to experience any of the warm-up that everyone said we had. But today, I was able to go outside for our weekly Chipotle lunch, then I made it home earlier than usual and went out for dinner with my family. On the way home, at 7:30 pm, I looked at the temperature readout in our minivan and it showed 59 degrees. My heart skipped a beat to see that number on the display again. Makes me hopeful that Spring truly is just around the corner. Of course, this being the Midwest, I'm sure we have quite a few more bitterly cold days ahead of us before they are gone for good. For now, I'll just enjoy my 59 degrees.
